Memories ...They can warm u like sunshine on a winter day ... or sometimes prick you like a sharp needle!!! They can make ur heart as heavy as an anchor ... put a lump in your throat.. and you find yourself smiling, remembering the sweet days gone by .. memories .. Ah!! sweet memories!

As the nostalgia of the 4 years that wizzed past overwealmed us we couldnt help wondering that the very college we cursed every day till date suddently would mean so much! We suddently realised its comfort under which we were sheltered!! A place where each nook .. each corner had a story to tell.. the walls..benches.. desks.. each of them witness to an era.. An era which today, sadly came to an end!!

But even befor we realised all this there were those individuals ...those people who just come into our lives..become friends..have now etched a permanent place.. and moreso coz of whome college was fun!! How can we forget them ..?? As each tear shead today was a tribute to those countless moments of joy .. sorrow.. juvillation or angst!! Each smile a testimony of the wonderful times we've spend!!!

So herez a toast to SCT ... my buddies .. my bumchumz!! The past few years have been soo much fun .. and it certainly rips my heart apart to think im gonna part from all this .. but then this is how cruel life can get at times ... only can hope .. against hope.. that we all end up somewhere close atleast if not for the same place!!!! Viva SCT ..Viva my amigoz !!!!!

Sad what we are doing to our engineers today ..!! I see a time in the very near future, when, no matter what discipline you've take, u ultimately gonna pass out as a software engineer!! Now this is really sad coz the 4 years that the student has spend doin his/her electronics, electrical, mechanical etc is of utter waste coz in the end most likely he is gonna be lapped up by some software firm!! Lets see what I'm talking about ..

Software is a miracle sector. Growing at 40 per cent annually for a decade, it earned $ 8 billion in exports last year. McKinsey estimates that it could earn up to $ 58 billion by 2008, more than Indias entire merchandise exports today!!! Naturally, any industry that is expanding this fast needs manpower to function and while are equipped with the state of the art teaching facilities, gives them the leverage to hire candidates that primarily aren't doing software. Now obviously when such an opportunity arises the student is not gonna think about his diversion from his basic stream!! After all, A bird in hand is worth 2 in a bush!!

So why am I talking about all this ..?? Sitting there in the Campus Connect program at our college I could see around me, the students labeled as the 'non-IT' batch, trying to absorb all the computer basics being thrown at them! Feel sorry for them, but more so at the situation that has come to be , that these students in all probability might eventually just fit right in, but whatta waste of those 4 years and that B-Tech degree!!!! Its like this meat factory where in the manufacturer has these hoards of tins ready.. All that is needed is meat to fill it with .. No matter what kind.. Only condition being that it be meat!!!!

What is even more amazing is that the college is planning to start parallel courses for the junior batches,to arm the students ( of the 'non-IT' stream ofcourse! ) before they take these software recruitment tests!! They may as well stop all the other courses and teach everyone software engg itself !! Save time.. Save energy ... Save 4 years!!!

Holi Hai !!!!

So our college closes fa the loong week end owing to maundy thu and good friday, which meant the holi celebrations had to be advanced! Boy watta day it was!! Lets start from the beginning.. All of us reached college with no colours .. So, Pangs, Gautam, Anoop and me decided to go out and get some!!! Holi isnt the much celebrated festival in these parts which meant we dint get exactly what we wanted ... Finally armed with 4 pacs of 'make up colour' (boy are they expensive as compared to the normal holi colours !! ) we made our way back to college!! Pangs had to collect his sim from Vishnu,which meant R6 were our first victims!!! Leaving back a bunch of revengful souls we head back to class.. We started off with the people around us and slowly the whole class was into it ... Lax and Sonz too joined us in spreading the spirit!! whats with the festive spirit i donno ..it gets to everyone!! The galz were more zestful than guys and slowly all of us were painted in green, yellow and red ..!!! Slowly it spread to the classes around us ... Boy!! This was fun ... and this was just the beginning ...!!!

Lunch meant v took the festivities to the canteen ... after which we decided to spend the rest of the day in the auditorium playing table tennis!! When i got there Jaimy and Nandini were there waiting with colours, hoping to return the favour.. :D but alas !!! after some time they too were all yellow and pink .. poor Gaytri too was sucked in ..!! Holi spirit spares no one !!! Ha Ha ... we spend the rest of the noon playing ping pong and with even the juniz joining us as they were too coloured to get back into class ... So wat followed was a good session of table tennis peppered with fun and time-pass!!! This truly was college life at its best ..!! A day packed with the colours ... HOLI HAI !!!!

Simple pleasures of life ...

Small things can give you the kicks ... make a happy moment ... and gives ya as raji says ... "simple pleasures of life!!!" There was reason recently when, if, on google search u search fa "sidzofrenia" my site comes up first ..!! and plus i crossed 100 hits ( its been 12 days) on my website!!! This is especially when i have not yet added any meta tags nor have i put this site on any directories or spread the word around! :D he he .. i know .. whats to brag.. big deal .. hell yeah!! it is ..!!! simple pleasures of life !!!

Hey watcha out fa a full feature on DISHAA'05 on ACV on 20th march (SUNDAY) at 10pm ... the Ads have started and boy! DISHAA looks cool on tv .. much as it actually was !!!! :D

Spend the week end at Quest.Some of events were good! Took part in many of em but sadly the results of many did not go as expected !!! Pangs and me presented a paper.. Floated a company .. annoyed a lot of people ... and had a blast!! You should have seen the sleepy auditorium come alive when we presented our company and product!! But even though without doubt,the judges had a whale of a time, they dint have the balls to go against their booring pre-concieved notions of the checklist they probably had made expecting the totally monotonous presentations they expected and which was actually dilevered by the other teams.. Anyways, not being sore loosers we took it in our stride!!! Never mind pangs.. good job budz!! ;-p

The irony of sport..!!!

Well someone has rightly said “ Sport is a great leveler!!” Time and again it happens that sport in its many ways shocks, excites and mesmerizes!!! Great powers fall and new heroes are born on the field .. !! Men and women alike have the powers to carry hopes of Millions!! It is here that David slays the goliaths and minnows humble the masters!!Matches are fought like wars .. That’s the charisma of sport!! Well, we were on the receiving end today when we were humbled by 2nd year comp sci students in a football match thereby eliminating us from the competition!! :(( The irony was that this was probably the best we have played in a long long time ... Came close to scoring so many times, each of the chances finding the cross bar!! Lovely through passes.. good long shots ... alas!! Lady luck continued to evade us!! So many times we have managed to get through, not having played this well but that as they say .. is in the game!!! The only major chance they got they scored ( Which again was due to a rare mistake by our goalie..!!) Anyways that’s the magic of sport i guess ( magic for the other team per say :D ) Only concretes the fact that sport truly is a Great leveler!!!!

On a different note, the CAMPUS CONNECT program by Infosys was officially inaugurated
today!! This is in response to the amazing supply conversion ratio of our students to their
recruitment drive ( We ranked 1st among all colleges going by the conversion ratio
and 3rd going by the actually number who got selected!! ) Kudos to SCT!!! Students will be given special training (generic stream) as per the requirements by the industry!!! Although it frowned the already selected students, who have already planned the remaining days with project work and like , looks like a good program for our juniors who are gonna face the music as the recruitment season opens again. Wishing them all the best !! Well before I sign off id like to apologize to this friend of mine who complained that I hadn’t kept in touch with her .. if you are reading this .. sorry babe!! lets kiss and make up!!! ha ha ... :D

The internals now over, (Don't aske me how they went!!!) gave me more time to work on the site.I needed to make some changes.Firstly, the colours had to change coz they somehow were'nt ME!!I wanted to give a more professional look to the site and since i had very few tools to play with (This site is mainly codded only using HTML, CSS and some javascript), my options were limited!! Anyways i started to play around with a few colours here n there and voila!! Most of the links are working and i have the layout changed ...

Why did i wanna make a site in the first place..?? Why does any one create anything?? Is it coz they are soo bored that they have nothing to do..?? hmm .. thats there .. he he but jokes apart guess its coz u wanna see how far u can push yourself... and each step you take, has left you better off than you were already were.. but then guess there are other factors too.. :) This site is more than just a few files interpreted by some browser that appears on your screen! Its the worlds window to me..Here you'l get a glimpse of my life ..family.. friends.. what i think about..stuff..sense/non sense.. Over the past few days i've been Bugging my friends like crazy.. each word i put up on the site has to be reviewd !! Sometimes it makes me angry when they dont respond the way i wanna :D But then i guess thats normal .. ive got all kinds of reviews .. ranging from really good ones to " oh it jus looks like any other web-site i've seen!! ".. hmm .. so a big THANKS to all who raved it and ".!." to those who dint...he he..kiddin.. so in the end this is me .. all in black and white .. along with those shades of grey .. calender .. clock ..?? wherz tat??

In case you haven’t been able to see the clock or the calendar, chances are that you are using Firefox/Netscape (works with IE) .. aint it so?? The reason is that these programs have been written using javascripts and many browsers have security hassles with them as they are programs which pose a possible intrusion risk! These browsers allow very little interaction between the browser client and the user machine.. Yea security issues.... although developers are working on the solution to achieve the correct balance between convenience and security!! Hopefully that will happen soon... He He .. seems these browsers concentrate more on security whilst IE does’nt ..which explains why it is popularly exploited!! :D Still id stick with IE as at this stage a known devil is better than a unknown friend !! moreover certain things abt firefox is kinda irritating!

Another interesting thing that I came across whilst I was searching fa the reason, was the origin of the name javascript!! Seems, at that time Netscape was working on the technology and were planning to name it Livescript.. At that time Java was the ' in thing ' and they decided to rechristen it javascript to gain more media attention :D

How much can 2 words convey?? Not much?? Well if you are an engg student your life can change with small jargons which speak volumes!!! There were a lot of anxious moments in the past few days as the results of the previous semester’s were announced and going by the look of things, they were nothing to get too excited about!! Record supplyz in the I.T class…Bad Comp. Sci results in other colleges…hmm things could get messy !! Anyways it peaked when Pangs and Lax came walking up2 me with a "31246 has lost B i guess .. think its dbms!"..

Suddenly everything went quiet..there was this gloom that was surrounding me.."Damn!!.. not at this stage!! ",I thought. Then my mind started charting the consequences! The immediate one would be me having to tell Ma..Oki that could lead to panic and hysteria!! Hmm.. should be manageable I guess, but I’ll have to console ma fa the rest of the sem that it would be oki and that it wouldn’t affect my job offers coz I’ll would have cleared it by the time I pass!! Man!! still.. too much overhead yaar .. And it was then feeling pity on my state i guess Lax burst out laughing.." All Pass!!"...

Woa!! Suddenly all those Damage control thoughts "poofed!!!"...Life is good again!! Those two magical words engulfed me with joy and relief ... more relief than joy actually!!! The birds started singing on the trees again.. The sun shone brightly ... yea .. . it was truly a beautiful day!!!!!"

Another series started .. the penultimate one of my engg life!!! boy!! its becoming increasingy difficult to get my self studying for these series sem after sem!!! anyways, no major monsters in the paper .. whew!! I hate exams .. i hate the restrictions they sub consciously put into ur mind!! Days bear this really eeky feeling .. i hate em!!!

Anyways ... so they say that the best way to improve your site is to go thru many out there!!! So after i did my daily visiting of homepages, it made me depressed!! man i gotta jazz this baby up!! change its look .. so i tried it .. donno if its looking better .. i'm gonna bug all my pals asking their opinion!! i also wanted to fill in the other links .. its high time .. but man!! i want it to be purrrfect!!! so its just been writing .. deleting.. writing.... hmm .. man i'm blank !!!!!

Couldnt do much with my site today ...apart from a few changes with the general layout ..playing around with the font colors,background styles/colours..etc etc... coz of the goddamit exam tomorrow .. isnt it always that it is during the exams that the most interesting movies are shown...something really interesting crops up..or even the things that other wise was so boring suddently becomes interesting :D anyways the purpose of this blog was to check how the second article would look on the site ... so lemme beam this baby up and check out how it looks!! :D
